ABOUT MEG AND SARAH!

The Traverse City Comedy Fest has announced “Hacks” star Megan Stalter and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Sarah Sherman will appear for a special co-headlining kickoff to the festival on Thursday, April 16 at the Park Place Hotel.

Megan Stalter is an LA-based actress, comedian, and writer. Originally from the Chicago comedy scene, Stalter has been called “an oasis of invigorating silliness in feeds dominated by wearying tragedy” by the New York Times and “a soothing comedy balm for a scathing grease fire of a year” by Harper’s Bazaar. She’s received wide acclam for her hilarious, show-stealing role as Kayla in the Max comedy series “Hacks,” which is currently airing its critically acclaimed fourth season.

Stalter was listed by both Vulture and Variety as a 2020 Comic to Watch. Her satirical, often surrealist work has been described as “essential escapist comedy,” and the New York Times’ Jason Zinoman described her as “the most vital voice to emerge during this anxious, isolating moment.” Stalter can recently be seen on Peacock’s “Queer As Folk” (2022), “Sometimes I Think About Dying” (2023), Chelsea Peretti’s Roku Original “First Time Female Director” (2024),  and  Julio Torres’ debut feature for A24, “Problemista” (2024). She also appeared on “Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain” (2023), the SNL comedy trio’s Universal feature, which was produced by Apatow Productions and premiered on Peacock.

Stalter can also be seen as the star of Hannah Pearl Utt’s indie feature, “Cora Bora,” which had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Currently, she can be seen alongside Will Sharpe in Lena Dunham’s Netflix series, “Too Much.”

Sarah Sherman aka Sarah Squirm is now in her fifth season as a cast member on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” In 2023, she co-starred with Adam Sandler in the Netflix film “You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!”, and she is set to appear in the upcoming Sandler-produced Netflix feature “Roommates.” Sherman was selected as a NEW FACE at the 2021 Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and is known for her popular live show, “Helltrap Nightmare.” Sherman previously opened for Eric André on his national tour and wrote on “The Eric Andre Show.” She was staffed on the Adult Swim series “Three Busy Debras” and Netflix’s “Magic For Humans.” She was previously named one of Vulture’s Comics to Watch for 2018 and one of TIME OUT Magazine’s Five Comics to Watch for 2017.
